Malyugin Rings & Accessories

The Malyugin Ring facilitates the stable expansion of the iris during cataract surgery. It simplifies complex cases such as small pupils and intra-operative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS), making these cases more routine.

No need for additional incisions. The Malyugin Ring Classic fits through your main incision (2.2mm or larger) and eliminates the need to make additional paracentesis.

Gentle expansion of the iris. The Malyugin Ring provides 8 points of contact on the iris providing evenly dispersed tension on the iris sphincter.

Save time. The Malyugin Ring is easily inserted and removed directly from the iris plane, providing you with complete control, and reducing valuable operating theatre time.

Now including the Osher Modification to the Malyugin Ring Injector. In 2014, Robert Osher MD improved the Malyugin Ring by creating an injector that allows for easier release and re-engagement of the ring.

Malyugin Ring 2.0

The Malyugin Ring 2.0 was created to further improve upon the safety of the Classic Malyugin Ring, increase the ease of ring placement and removal from the pupil margin, and allow for ready entry in 2.0mm incisions.

The Malyugin Ring 2.0 is gentler, easier to use, and requires no change in surgical technique:

Larger spacing in between anterior and posterior scrolls allowing for easier engagement and disengagement from the iris.

New smaller gauge material, increasing flexibility and reducing the amount of force required to compress the ring by over 70%.

The new Malyugin Ring 2.0 injector now allows for access in 2.0mm incisions and provides more room in larger wounds.

Osher/Malyugin Manipulator Classic

Designed by Robert Osher MD, the Osher/ Malyugin Ring manipulator was created to fit the specific dimensions and tolerances of the Classic Malyugin ring. The device fits inside the scrolls of the Malyugin Ring to allow for complete control when placing or removing the ring from the iris.

Osher/Malyugin Manipulator 2.0

An updated version of the Classic Manipulator was created to best fit the new dimensions and tolerances of the new Malyugin Ring 2.0. The Osher/ Malyugin Manipulator 2.0 fits inside the scrolls of the Malyugin Ring 2.0 to allow for better control when placing or removing them from the iris.
